Vacation, Day 5 -- Park City UT

We started out the day with breakfast at The Oaks, a cafe located a few miles from our condo at Wolf Creek Village. You've gotta love a place where a dollar is donated to the proprietor's grandson's college fund when you order an egg burrito! And -- no -- the people on the motorcycle aren't us!

There are interesting rock formations across the highway from the restaurant....

A couple of shots of the scenery near our resort...

When we got to Park City, we parked the car on a side street and started walking and poking around in the various shops. There are a lot of galleries featuring photography, jewelry, carvings, sculptures and other things crafted by the local artists.

Dan bought me a beautiful pair of silver and garnet snowflake earrings -- can't wait for winter to get here so I can wear them!

Dan decided to get to know one of the local bears.....

Mining was very important to the founding of Park City. The miner was sculpted by Peter Fillerup of Midway UT; it was dedicated on Miner's Day, September 5, 1999, and given by the citizens of Park City to the community.

There's a museum for people who are curious about the history of the area and, below, another sculpture.

A banner advertising the upcoming Arts Festival floats from a streetlight...

The slopes look so funny without snow!

A last look as we leave Park City and head back to Eden!
